Hungerford & Cone account books, 1833-1873.

Account books kept by the Hartford, Connecticut, law partnership of Hungerford & Cone. William Hungerford and William Cone, both natives of East Haddam, Connecticut, formed their law partnership in the 1830s. They retired from practice in 1860 but continued a real estate partnership until Hungerford's death in 1873. The six account books in the collection cover the bulk of the partnership. The first five are similar in composition. They list the firm's clients, legal services provided, and the amount charged. The final book deals mostly with the post-retirement real estate transactions.
